Internet Explorer shortcust auto-launches at Startup

I created a shortcut to a web site in IE -- I think I did it by creating a
Favorite and then copying and pasting it to the desktop -- and I did
something to make it launch automatically at Startup. Now I want to stop it
from auto-launching, and I can't remember how I told it to auto-launch and
can't figure out how to make it stop.

The shortcut does not appear in any Startup folder. It's not in Start -
Programs - Startup from the main program menu, and it's not in any of the
Startup folders in Windows Explorer under Documents and Settings
(Administrator, All Users or Default User (there are no other Startup folders
-- I know, plus I did a search).

.. Right click Desktop
.. Properties
.. Desktop tab
.. Customize button
.. Web tab
.. Uncheck all checks
.. Click OK
.. CLick OK

.. Click Start - Run
.. Type msconfig
.. Click KO
.. Go to Startup tab
.. If you notice "iexplore.exe" or anything similar to name of your web
shortcut, uncheck it.

Ayush,

I appreciate the effort to help. There are no items on the Web tab to
uncheck, and even if there were that shouldn't result in an "auto-launch" of
those items on startup. And there is nothing related to this issue existing
in my MSCONFIG - Startup tab. But thanks.

Footnote: Some people have been posting on this newsgroup who are not all
that tech savvy. It is appreciated but doesn't help much and tends to hinder
answers from more experienced people because it looks to them at first glance
like the question has been answered, when it really hasn't.
