Internet Explorer Opening

I have a minor but very annoying problem with IE ans WINXP.
If I go to a site, usually forums, they have quite a number of discussion areas. If I right click on one of the links and select "open in a new window", I get a window about a quarter of the screen size.
Waht I can I change to make the "open in a new window" open maximised or larger than it is presenl;t??
