Internet explorer not accessible to limited user

have my own user set for admin and internet explorer works fine, if someone
else tries to use system they must log in as limited. internet explorer never
opens and generates the following error message...

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Application Error
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000

Description:
Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module
msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.2180, fault address 0x00037fd4.

how to remedy this and allow user access to internet explorer?

Have you changed any permissions from default? What version of XP are you
using? Try creating a brand new user and logon as that user to see if it
still happens. --- Steve

using xp pro w/ SP2 and all updates are current... no permissions were
changed...Yes, user was deleted and new one created, internet explorer still
would not open for users other then my own.

It sounds like a permission problem if the only difference is group
membership. I would download the free tool filemon from SysInternals, logon
as a regular user, user runas to start filemon [runas /user:administrator
filemon.exe] just before you try to run IE, and then stop filemon from
logging when IE fails. Then look in filemon log for an access denied entry
for a file and change permissions for that file for users to see if that
helps or not. You may need to do the same procedure a couple times until no
access denied entries are found. --- Steve
