A friend of mine is getting this error message:
"About a dozen times in the past few days on the net a screen will pop up
that says lnternet explorer has encountered a error and is now shutting down
and to report this error but l never do click don't send and l loose whatever
site l was on. Does this mean it's my fault something went wrong or just
certain places l go to also happens on the forum sometimes. Yes l know so
much about computers."

Can someone tell me what it means?

Please have your friend scan for viruses and malware. Here are removal
steps to go through systematically:

After your friend has done that, if s/he needs more help, please go to
this link to see what kind of details you should include in your next
post:

Thanks, that is basicly what I told her to do. I just wanted to see if there
was something more to it that I may have missed.

Make sure you have serivce pack 2 for windows, and internet explorer serivce
pack 2. If you are STILL having problems, try disabling ActiveX controls, or
if you DON'T want to/ don't know how, scan for viruses, spyware, and regedit
errors at live.safety.com! HOPE THIS WORKS!!!

But since Andrew E can't seem to include a valid link to the URL his info is
virtually useless to the average newsgroup poster.
At the very least he could recommend they enter the KB number he includes
into a Google or MS search.
Most of the time he posts dangerous and erroneous information that usually
results in total loss of data without any warning that data loss is a
possibility.
I have no idea why he even posts, but do not trust any information you ever
see posted by Andrew E, even if it looks like it is correct.
Andrew E. seems to have nothing but a chaos mentality as far as I can
determine and he should be death with accordingly. His archived posts show
he has a dedicated agenda of creating mayhem and supplying erroneous and
harmful advice on a very regular basis.
