Internet Explorer locking up

hello. I have Internet Explorer version 6.0.28 and for some reason it
started locking up on me. What happens is that after I dial up and get
online and surf for a few minutes (the average length is 4-5 minutes),
the Internet Explorer locks up and then locks up the entire machine. I
have Windows ME, and I've tried running System restore but because that
uses Internet Explorer, it locks up as well. Any application that uses
Internet Explorer ends up locking up with in a few minutes. I've tried
re-installing Internet Explorer SP2, I've tried re-installing windows,
but nothing has seemed to work. If I use a different browser (like I am
now using Mozilla) I can be online as long as I want. I can't think of
anything else to do. I can't even uninstall the full version of IE, the
only options are Re-install or Repair. Any suggestions would be great!

Might be well advised to find if the cause is some spyware or parasites.

Remove all the parasites on your computer.
Delete all the spywares and bad BHOs from your system.
