Internet Explorer keeps stopping

My sister has windows xp and when the computer boots up
she gets an error message that reads MSVC32iMFC
application encountered a problem. When she accesses the
internet after a few minutes she gets a message that says
sorry for the inconvenience but internet explorer has to
close. When she talked with her ISP they had her try to
use the add/remove microsoft programs and removed/added
internet explorer but it didn't work. They suggested that
she may have to re-format her hard drive. Any clues to
what's happening?

Thanks a bunch! I got a chance to try the fix tonight and
it seems to have done the trick. It seemed to easy, like
I was not understanding the solution but you were
right, "That's it!" My sister is grateful.
