Internet Explorer keeps shutting down

If I am in the wrong newsgroup to get help for me
problem, please forgive me as this is the first time I've
ever used this service.

For the past week, when I'm in IE, after I hit a certain
number of sites, especially when I'm reading my Yahoo
email (and I get alot of mail there!), IE locks up and
closes. This is the first time this has ever happened
and I'm wondering what is going on with my computer.

I have Windows XP home edition and the lastest version of
Internet Explorer.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, jan

Hello Jan,

Have you scanned your computer for Spyware /Adware / viruses?

If so you can always try to uninstall IE and then reinstall it. However you
will need your XP disk to do so. Just go to add remove programs. Then
click the "Add/Remove Windows Components". then uncheck the box next to IE,
restart, and then install it again using the same process. But I would
recommend scanning for Spyware /Adware / viruses before you try that. Here
are a few if you dont have any.

Antivirus:

AVG www.grisoft.com
E-Trust: www.my-etrust.com
Kaspersky www.kaspersky.com

If you're still having problems after running these then run HijackThis
and post the log to one of the specialty forums, _NOT_ this one.
