How do I get my Internet browser back?

See if you can uninstall IE7:
"How to uninstall Internet Explorer 7"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177

In this case, IE6 should show up when done.
Otherwise, repost (via Newsreader) to this group:

Try going to C:\Windows\ie6 folder. Open the folder and find
iexplorer.exe Icon. Double click on it and if iexplorer comes up Ok then rt
click on it and select Send to
Desktop as shortcut.

Using the System Restore tool in order to uninstall IE7 is not recommended.
Follow the steps as described in KB927177. Before doing so, check if IE
is really completely gone rather than its desktop icon only.
Start > Run: IEXPLORE.EXE

Why should *I* do that. Note that I'm *not* the OP! If you have something
to say, reply to the OP directly. Thanks.

For gawds sake keep IE6 and forget IE7 for ever and ever, amen.
Wait for IE8. Maybe it won't be the disaster that IE7 is and
continues to be.

A contrary opinion here. IE7 works just fine on all my machines.
Because of its significant security improvements, I recommend that
everyone use it in preference to IE6.
