Internet Explorer freezing up

With some regularity my Internet Explorer page seems to freeze up. It seems
to always happen to the first page that's been opened, with any other
Internet Explorer pages that are open not being affected.

The page will not respond in any way and appear to be just frozen up. To
close it I have to open up 'windows task manager'. I also often get a
message from windows reporting a fault and asking if I'm happy to post a
fault report, which I do.

My system is fully up to date. Any suggestion on what problems I might have
or how I could do some fault finding to find the problem.

Always make sure your computer is virus/malware-free so you know you're
working from a clean baseline.

One of the main reasons for IE problems is incompatible/faulty add-ons so
try running IE in no add-on mode. If the problems disappear, enable add-ons
one at a time to find the culprit.

MS webpage explaining add-ons: http://tinyurl.com/2tro8f

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

Thanks Malke,

I'll have a go with your suggestions and report back for further
instructions if the symptoms persist.
