Internet explorer freeze

I have a problem with Ie 6.0 (Fully patched) that on occassion while surfing
websites that internet explorer will freeze to the point where a kill task
will not close it and the network icon shows disconnected. However all other
programs and network connections remain fine. ultimatly to repair it I have
to power the computer off via the power button as it will sit the closing
network connections indefinetly.

Any ideas?
Running SP2 on a new install, all patches installed.

This might be a malware problem. Download and run CWShredder, Ad-aware,
Spybot (in that order.)
