Internet explorer favorites folder

I have encountered a problem with internet explorer & one of the
folders I save my favorites in. The folder occasionally erases itself
completely. It has done this 2 seperate times. I have replaced the same
sites in the same folder and it has happened again. Any idea why this
is happening? I assume it must be one of the sites I have saved as a
favorite. None of my other folders have erased, just this same one. Has
anyone ever had a similar problem?

Where is this folder located? In the Temporary Internet Files folder?

Are you using an auto cleanup tool of some kind, like DiskCleaner orEmpty
Temp Folders, etc?

Wesley:

Yes, I have used adaware as well as my virus scan, symantec corporate.
My favorites appear to be in this location C:documents & settings. I
have always run adaware and this problem has only occured 2 times but I
guess it does appear to happen after running adaware. It only erases
the one folder though. Thanks for the input, its appreciated.

spviking,

It is C:\Documents and Settings

Can you be more specific?

My C:\Documents and Settings contains 1,125 folders. A little tough to
track down without some more info.

Quite often people use...

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Favorites

Is that it?

Locate the folder that you save your favorites in.
Right click it.
Click on Properties.
Under the General tab is Location.
Highlight that location.
I.e. C:\Documents and Settings\et cetera
Right click it.
Select Copy
Paste that location (path) into a message and post back.

If the folder is in

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files

or

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Local Settings\Temp

you may have a problem.
