internet explorer doesn't work

hi, when i try to go on line by opening internet explorer
it doesn't do anything. it used to launch me to the
internet via modem connection with xp home, now i just
have to go online with msn explorer. i have selected the
option for internet explorer to check if it is the
default browser and that didn't fix it. also i noticed
that the 2 other users of the pc their internet explorer
launches w/o problem just my internet explorer program
won;t launch

hi kelly and thanks,
i have ran all of the mentioned and i am still the only
one on the pc that can't launch internet explorer i can
get on line with msn explorer but not IE.
