Internet Explorer crashing

Not certain if this is the correct forum. Since installing XP SP2 IE
periodically displays the following error:

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module
ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0003426d.

When I click "OK", IE closes itself. I am able to re-open and continue
browsing.

HP Pavilion ZD7340, XP Pro, all updates current.

Any insight greatly appreciated.

I have been having a similar error with my internet explorer constantly
crashing (closing) i dont get such a specific error but what i do get is:

"Internet explorer encountered a problem and needs to close window"

When i send the error report it says that it was a web application, plugin
or protocol (nothing useful)

Hi dekwest :)

It can be caused by program incompatibility, but, ntdll.dll errors have
lately been caused by CoolWebSearch. Check the information below and see if
it helps:

Thank you for responding. I run anti-spyware software pretty aggressively,
but at your suggestion I just checked everything again. After running SpyBot
S&D, Ad-Aware, CWShredder, HiJackThis, and an exhaustive Counter-Spy scan I
found no instances of CoolWebSearch. I did remove several tracking cookies,
but that was the only MalWare uncovered.

I read somewhere that this can be related, after SP2, to unanswered TCP
calls, and I can confirm that I have this problem more often when another PC
on my network is running a P2P application.

Any ideas?

And, again, thank you Jan Il, and anyone else who offers any suggestions.

As you have confirmed that scumware is not an issue, then let's look for
some other software that may be causing the problem. Have you recently
installed any new software at the time the problem started? Is there any
ISP provided software installed? Or perhaps at some point?

Try here and see if this might offer some helpful information:
