Internet Explorer Crashing without even a warning or error

All,

Having taken over support of a new application, we have found I.E.
crashes all over the place with no message of error or warning and
nothing is to be showing in event viewer.

Where do you start diagnosing something like this?

I have I.E. 6 running on XP.

Preliminary advice picked up from searches has lead me to
a - run the windows memory diagnostic
b - run macAfee Virus Scan
c - run sfc /scannow

nonothing has been identified by any of these.

What's the next move?

Cheers

Crashing can sometimes be related to "Add-Ons", 3rd-Party apps
that hook into the browser. Things like Java, Adobe Reader and a
long list of Toolbars, Searches. You want to make sure that only
those that you want are enabled/running. Also it's a good idea to
have the latest versions of add-ons installed. Things like Shockwave
and Flash Player sometimes cause issues. You can review the
add-ons from Internet Options, Programs (TAB) - Manage Add-ons
(Button).

McAfee introduces it's own set of problems depending on whether
you're using simple AV or one of their Security Suite packages. In
my opinion both McAfee & Norton Home products introduce all
kinds of instabilities and "Quirky" system problems that are just a PITA
to nail down.

It appears we run Epolicy Agent and Macafee.

No idea what the first is.

Re MacAfee, I know you mentioned it at the start but I know little
about it or how to ainvestigate how it might be influencing the
situation.

I should add that I am now getting sporadic error messages.

The last few are as follows

- The Instruction at "0x7c9111e0" referenced memory at "0x0000015c".
The memory could not be read
- Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting
module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x00010f29.
