Internet Explorer can not find Internet

Using Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180 on XP Pro machine with recent SP2
upgrade – IE can not find any Internet connection (DSL)– even when all other
software finds Internet connection with no problem. Have reinstalled IE6
using instruction from MS – with no improvement Have scanned for Adware and
viruses –using updated files– with no help. . Any ideas on how to correct
this???

Go to Start | Run and type
CMD
In the command window type
netsh winsock reset
