Hi Bret
When we click on a link every once in a while. IE just closes. This
particular page is a secure page. We log in. And click to accept an
agreement. When another computer does this, we get a certificate
install prompt, on his IE just closes. This particular page does not
open a new window. He runs Norton Internet Security but it is all
disabled. Reset IE settings. Cleaned temp files. Looked through
add/remove for pop-up blockers, etc...
He did have some spyware trouble but this has been resolved. He runs
SpyBot and Ad-Aware. He says it happens on other non-secure sites as
well. On a realty web site, he clicks a link IE closes.
Here is where I'm a little stumped. I have Mozilla Firefox on his
machine, it gives the same behavior???
You do not mention what version of Windows it is, or if it has the SP2, but,
you might try the following and see if anything here will help.
For XP SP2: First try disabling the popup blocker:
Go to IE/Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Pop-up blocker/disable.

Tools > Popup blocker > select to > disable.

Both Java VM's can co-exist on your machine quite nicely. Just select which
one you want to use in Tools|Internet Options|Advanced and restart all IE
