Internet Explorer 6 shuts down

Hello everyone!

When trying to access some web sites where I need to key
in a UserName and a Password the browser shuts down.

The way it happens is:

I key in the UserName and Password in the appropriate
boxes and then I click the login bottom and the browser
shuts down instead of letting me in.

Another similar behavior happens: sometime I click on
links and instead of bringing me to page it shuts down
the browser.

Please, could help me with that?

This is possibly being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)
