A spyware compamny SPYFALCON has tken over my EI. Not matter what home page I
enter under Internet Options it always goes to a"about:blankl" and directs me
to the spyfa;lcon home page. It is also causing a "pop up" on the
start bar telling me the computer is infected and I should buy the software.
I am having touble getting rid of this.
I can delete the application but the pop up stays , and eventually if I use
either
IE or Mozella the application will be automatically installed again asking
me to buy the program. Any ideas.

The first thing I would do is get a good Firewall program, or at least enable
the Windows Firewall (SP2) and/or disconnect from the 'net. After that,
backup the registry and scour for any incidences of "SPYFALCON" and delet
them. Once they're gone, try and uninstall again, making sure to delete the
temp files & folders as well as the root directories for SPYFALCON. Then try
and get the Microsoft Spyware Beta if it's still out there and run that on
your system.

I hate to say it, but with real bad spyware infections the fix is usually a
format/reload. The darn things are so good at hiding that it's usually more
work to remove it than to reload. Sorry!

Just my 2 cents.

Owlpete, that will not help Joe remove Spyfalcon. Nor does he need to
wipe his drive and start over. Joe, see removal instructions at this
