tried to remove and it says "unable to open http

Hi Fletch,

First thing to get IE working again so that you can uninstall this toolbar
is

Go to your control panel and find the Internet Options applet.

Open it and go to the Advanced tab and find the option 'Enable third-party
browser extensions (requires restart) - uncheck it. Press the Apply button
and close the Internet Options applet.

You should now be able to open and run IE (without the toolbar loading)

You will need to go to http://www.ieplugin.com/uninstall2.html where you can
download the uninstall programs. Follow the instructions on this page.

I must say this is not a very user friendly toolbar that does not come with
its own un-install program. It would never get MS windows certification. You
probably installed it with some free screensaver or wallpaper download -
quite often these free software are bundled with other programs that you may
not be aware of. Always read the License Agreement when installing software!

Hi Fletch,

The only other thing you can do is to use another computer to download the
uninstall files from http://www.ieplugin.com/uninstall2.html

and then copy them to your infected computer and run them. You could also
try Toolbarcop or BHODemon (shareware programs you can download, but without
IE working that may be a problem)

Since you are using XP you should also be able to access the Add-in manager
from the Internet Options - Programs tab, you could try disabling all
Browser Helpers before trying start IE. The aim here is to stop loading the
program that is causing IE to crash so that you can load IE and then
download the un-install programs from ieplugin.

Hopefully the uninstall programs from ieplugin will cleanly remove their
software 4 you.
