internet Explorer 6 does not open for one user

the internet explorer does not open for one user, while it works for other
users on this machine. I can open Web sites within outlook for the
problematic user account, but cannot surf, if pages would open in a new
browser window.
I have deletet all temp stuff, I even changed the temp directory.
It must be some setting of the user or it would not work for others.

Windows 2000 Sp4, IE 6 SP1 all updates and patches installed.

Any idea?

Hi Judy,

You might have to checkj the connection settings under
IE, Tools, Internet Options.

router and DSL

Even connected through DSL you can screw up connection settings in IE... I
hav one other thought: a faulty default page.

But would it then be possible to call the favourites from Outlook and surf
till the moment you come to a link which would open a new window in IE?
I can open the default page from within outlook.
