Internet Connection Sharing Question

A

aday

I have ICS working on three XP Pro computers on home LAN. Internet access is
fine from all three. The host is set up to share the control and access with
the clients.
Supposedly, the 2 client computers should have a "ICS sharing" icon in their
Network Connections folder and mine don't. Both UPnP and SSDP services are
installed and started yet I have never seen the icons in the client folders.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

It's usually one of these

1. The SSDP Discovery Service has been disabled on the client.

2. A firewall is blocking traffic between the client and host.

3. The "Internet Gateway Discovery & Control Client" has been unchecked in
network optional components.

4. The SSDP Discovery Service or the UPNP Device Host service has been
disabled on the host.

I actually had a series of problems but your response got me on the right
track.
One of the issues "seemed" to be that I was not letting ICS assign the LAN
IP's. I had done that manually. Part of the eventual solution was to go back
to the assignment via ICS.
I also had one of the clients setting for ICF set to on. And bad log on info
on both SSDP and UPnP.
Appreciate your help.
