Internet Connection SHaring issues

D

Dave Brown

Hi all,

I hope someone might have a clue why i'm experienceing problems with my
little network.

My Setup is this, A desktop PC that dials up to my ISP ( with 2 hour
disconnect). This is connected via ethernet cable to a Linksys Wireless
router (802.11 B).
My Laptop is connected to the network via its internal wireless card.

The desktop PC has ICS setup so my laptop can use the internet.

My problem is that whenever the 2 hour disconnect comes round, the
desktop redials automatically as usual but for some odd reason it take
between 5 and 10 minutes for my laptop to be able to access the internet
again and then suddenly it will just start working again.

I can't understand why it seems that ICS on the desktop seems to get
into a problem before it realises that the connection is active again.

If anyone has any suggestions it'd be greatly appreciated as this is
REALLY REALLY frustrating...

Thanks,

Dave.

And does the issue stop if you turn off auto-disconnect?
