internal speakers

2 days ago I bought a microsoft wireless xp lap top
computer I have tried to make the speakers work I went
to the wizard and they work but only with a mic. I cant
hear anything from the 2 speakers in front. I went to
volume control and everything looks good I think,
can you give me another solution to this problem? I hate
to carry a mic with me everywhere especially with such an
expensive laptop. answer as soon as possible please???

You must have bought a laptop (make/model unknown) that came with XP
installed. It would seem to me that a laptop only two days old should not be
having this kind of a problem. If you changed nothing, I'd take it back, or
at least see if the laptop seller or Mfr has any information that would help
resolve the problem.
Without knowing more about your laptop and it's sound system, I'd hate to
hazard a wild guess.
Exactly what does not produce sound from the speakers?
An application, or all applications and system functions that might cause a
sound to be made?
How about the laptop diagnostics sound tests?
