Intergrate Windows Live with Windows Mail,Contacts and Calander...

It seems to me that WM & WC should both sync with hotmail and live contacts
the way Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta does, in fact I think Vista should
replace windows mail with Windows Live Mail, this seems like such a no
brainer, why was this not done, is Microsoft waiting to charge for it like
the .MAC service.

How can the replacement for Outlook Express NOT support Hotmail!!!!

So that you'll switch to WLMDb.
I refuse. I find the UI clunky and won't use it for anything but the WLMD
newsgroup because I can't add a toolbar button for Next unread message.

I never use that button. I just click on the next message.

What about when the next unread message is down 1246 messages?
I know Ctrl-U works, but that's not what I want.
I really dislike that program, but it seems to be a step down from OE.

So you guys are happy with the way these things have turned out? Is the
reason that MS has not integrated teh Live services becuase of Anti-trust??

I doubt if anti-trust concerns have anything to do with it.. Like I said,
they would prefer having you switch to WLMD.

No, I'm not happy. I have no idea what made you think I was. My irritation
rises to the point of anger, but I will quit before I write a 500 word rant.

I understand. Has the community expressed this to MS? Do you think changes
will be made?

I always have it set to view unread messages only (almost always), so I
don't see the other messages.

I haven't tried WLMDB at all and don't have it on a priority list to try it.
I'm too busy with other stuff, such as trying to debug Windows Mail in Vista
before they ship it out the door infested.

Well good luck with that, IMO WLMD is a much better product, I like the
search, RSS reading and interface plus integration with my live contacts.

I have IE for RSS feeds and search and I don't have any Live contacts,
although my contacts are alive.

Oh, please!

Hotmail support was taken out of OE and Outlook
and not put in Windows Mail for one reason- MONEY!

WLMD includes advertisements or Active Search
and "relevant links" aka advertisements.

Don't believe any other bullshite reason.

Of course, if you have a premium MSN account
it should work.

I tried using- I think WLMD sucks. Also, WLM
is slow. Firefox renders WLM much quicker than
IE7, and gives a better view. Try using Firefox
when you go to WLM.

I've seen the link in Hotmail to test it, but I don't know what the consequencies of the conversion are for my Hotmail account. I couldn't even find the terms of use on the site. And as Microsoft policies don't allow to set up a test XP system, it's impossible to test it.

On a different note but then again related
MS seems to be removing access to hotmail 1) money 2) spam
Many a person has used hotmail accounts to spam the planet
Which ties to 1) bandwidth to move such messages is not free
Its also frigging annoying as hell waking up to 150 message and 149 are spam

But I am not sure if this is a quirk or not
I installed Office 2007
Have a "new" account that is past the DAV shut off date
MS has stopped supporting the free accounts in outlook as well in lui of
The Hotmail Plus, Outlook Live etc which tie with the outlook connector
But yet my "newbie" hotmail account pull fine in OL2007 when they don't in
OL2003

I guess I'm going to have to buy the new office 2007 then ...
I use my outlook connector too much and will only use hotmail. My other mail
address's get tons more junk and virus emails than msn hotmail ever gave me...
Money I do not care - but I sure wish the proper info would be more related
to rc1 testers - my plans are to take rc1 to it's limits and strong holds if
possible and working thus so far - I have 3 systems here and rc1 installed on
a completely seprate drive for seperate booting to earlier version [xp]. Thus
would be nice tho to see more info for past programs ...
But I do thank all mvp's for their postings here at this thread...

I was not happy with that. My wife uses hotmail account and by not
supportin it, MS made me look for alternatives.

Now I access my mail accounts with Thunderbird. It has addons that
support http-mails. It has few things I don't like, but overall it's
fairly decent stuff.

If hotmail support is vital to you, I recommend checking out Eudora or
Thunderbird.

This newsgroup is dedicated to the Windows Mail program.

That problem is a known issue with WLM version 14, and the
experts in the WLM newsgroup should be able to help you out.
I am cross-posting to the newsgroup:
microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

so go there to see responses.
