Interface is shocking

The interface to this program is appaling. I really hope
Microsoft give it a more standard Windows feel to it
before the release version. Here are some of my gripes:

1. The way the menus at the top behave is far from
Windows-standard.

2. The clock in the scan schedule settings gives times
like 8:5 PM instead of 8:05 PM.

3. Those silly little boxes that popup when you hover
over the links on the left side of the Summary view have
rounded corners on the border around them, but the blue
background colour extends beyond the rounded corners to
make square corners. Also the naff underlined capital X
in the top right of the same boxes.

4. The background colour of the spyware report submission
thing is white!! Aaargh! And it has a stretched icon at
the top left.

5. The splash screen comes up again if you double-click
the tray icon while the program window is already open in
the foreground.

6. At the top-right of the Scan History Details window
there are two empty black boxes, plus an empty grey one
at the bottom-right which I expect is supposed to be an
OK or Close button. There are also strange corners on the
main text box giving the details of the scan history.

Before anyone bites my head off I know it's a beta, but I
want Microsoft to listen to this sort of feedback in time
for the release version.

My issue, is with some of the unnecessary Drop down menus, I think they
could have just put Options under Tools Menu. Overall its nice product and
to be honest the interface is ok, it is a very Microsoft Windows like
product.

It is beta 1 still and can change between now and RTM.

With regard to time there is no uniformity as the 24 hour clock is used
in some places but the 12 hour clock in others. IMHO it would be better
to use a 24 hour clock throughout!

I hope people also understand that this product is from an thier Giant
Software purchase. So it used to be Giant's AntiSpyware application. Which
is where the icon comes from. So it must be at least a little challenging to
rewrite the interface and morph it into a more common feeling/looking MS
product. But I agree with most of the comments, I too hope that it morphs
well into a common MS application that integrates will with Windows and the
common MS interfaces.

I think the interface is being completely written from the ground up and
that will be added to the engine they are tweaking here. That's why there's
little concern over buttons, menus, windows, dialog, typos, etc...

imho...

I have to say, its not controllable for a Windows Program, thats where you
see the big difference between how Microsoft and other software firms
develop programs, we should see some major improvements by beta, I'm hoping.
