I have posted some things on here regarding my WebServer. & thanks for all
the info I didnt know about lockdown tools & bits now....

Now for my new security issue

OS Win2000 SP4 & all updates
Webserver & ftpserver
Gateway to the internet for my network. I have a personal firewall(software)
running.

My issue is I start up that machine leave it 5 mins.. then go to my other
machine & i can access the internet. It allows me to access the net... Thing
is as far as I know my firewall hasnt loaded yet neither has anything else
eg antivirus ect....
Because I've not logged on does that mean that the software firewall wouldnt
be running... any thoughts

Many of these run as services with administrator credentials(or similarly
privileged), and they start automatically. No idea if that's true of your
example, I'd ask this of the AV and personal firewall vendor.
