Intellipoint 4.1 and 5.0

I originally had Wireless Intellipoint 4.1 installed
which worked perfectly. Then my keyboard started
misbehaving, so I purchased the Basic Wireless Desktop
set. This included Intellitype Pro 5.0 and the mouse
Intellipoint 5.0. These are linked to one desktop
reciever, with 2 wires out the back to be connected to
the USB/PS2 ports.

The intellipoint 5.0 mouse works fine, but does anyone
know if I can use the Intellipoint 4.1 mouse with this
new reciever ? And if I can, how can I set it up ?

Intellipoint and Intellitype software is backward compatible. Both packages
support any Microsoft USB or PS/2 mouse or keyboard.

Read that again, as you didn't answer the question.

But he wants to know if he can use his older mouse with his NEW
receiver????? I would say no, but he can always try!

Yeah and you can "always try" to put a Chevy 454 V8 in a VW Beetle too!!!
