Intel 3985ABG wifi gives netw4v32 internal error in Vista. Is there a fix?

I have the Intel 3985ABG card in my Toshiba M400 laptop. The wireless
network connection keeps dropping out (anywhere between 1 hr to 5 hrs from
boot up). Only a RESTART can fix the problem... I've tried all different
driver versions (now running the latest one from Intel) but still the same
problem.

Toshiba doesn't even mention this fault on their site... but it's a MAJOR
problem that other manufacturers like Dell and HP have... I've had this
problem for 6 months now and there is no fix yet... pathetic...

Anyway, does anyone know how to fix this or shall I just throw this laptop
back in Toshiba's face...

Below is a thread of people talking about this problem:

or search for "netw4v32" and "vista" in google

Cheers,

Check in Device Manager for power option settings for the NIC. Check your
power settings in Control Panel. Lastly check for any updates to the power
management software from Toshiba. Tell the OS to not let the NIC go to sleep
or maybe not to wake the computer... I don't know your choices.

If that doesn't work, check the firmware in the router. Sometimes it's a
software issue, sometimes hardware. Every new piece of hardware can cause
issues with older hardware.

It may not help but I am running one of those cards on my Samsung R70 and it
does not have a problem.
Driver version 11.1.0.86 25/02/07.
