I have a problem. I need to make a RIS distribution on a particular board but
the audio driver setup incorporates a microsoft driver in it, namely
KB835221.
I worked around this by using the RunOnce command to install the sound
driver and this works in a test lab, but in a real world situation it won't
work as the users that will log in need to have Administrator rights in order
to use RunOnce.
I tried integrating this package into the RIS distribution folder (the one
that contains the i386 files), but I keep getting the following error
message:
"An error occurred while attempting to integrate this software update
package. Verify that the architecture, language and service pack level of
this software update are valid for the target distribution folder."
I have taken RIS out of the equation and copied the entire i386 directory to
a local hard drive and tried integrating the update into that file, but again
I get the same error message.
Question:
1) Do you guys know any way of eliminating this error message?
2) Can you suggest any alternative workaround?
3) Is there any way of finding out whether SP2 incorporates this KB update?
many thanks in advance
