insufficient system resources

I recently installed Norton Personal Firewall 2003.
It has rid me of all those pop-up messages BUT at least
2-3 times/day I have to reboot my computer because my
application windows lock up. I get this error when I try
to read my email in Outlook Express or try to open Outlook
Express:
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the
requested service."
I have Windows 2000 Pro.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks I'll look into this...
I have about 750 meg of RAM. Also, everytime I get
this error I noticed that the Norton Antivirus app
has disabled itself....weird.

I looked at the Task Manager. Just before my system
hung, memory usage was at 3130004k/1919416k. Since the
reboot memory usage is at 169568k. I also noticed that
a process called NAVAPW32.exe was using 10412k of memory,
after the reboot it was at 5960k. How do I know what is
or isn't a runaway process?

I wouldn't be too concerned about that NAVAPW32.exe,
these values for memory usage will go up and down
depending on what the process is doing at the time. A
runaway process should really stand out i.e. constant
high CPU usage and very high and increasing memory.

Are you getting anything logged to event logs?

Can you just clarify those memory usage numbers was it
1919416 / 3130004 K or the other way round?
If after reboot it was 169568 / 3130004 K and the machine
was running pretty much the same as what it was b4 it
crashed, then you should have a process in task manager
that is using memory in the region of 1500000 or
something like that.

Does this only happen when you try to open Outlook
Express? If so, reinstall it. Or, if its only happened
since you installed Norton, try uninstalling it, see if
the problem still exists, if not try a reinstall of
Norton. If problem reappears then, check the support
pages for that product.
