Insufficient Space - Incorrect Error

Jan Rymarz

I'm running XP on a laptop with lots of RAM and plenty of HDD space.

When trying to print, Word reports that I have insuffient memmory and tells
me to save the document. All else is okay, but I can't print.

Norton System Doctor reports that only 38% of my HDD is used and that I have
40MB of RAM free with CPU usage only 5%.

I've cleared all temporary files etc (I run Disk Cleanup regularly) but
don't know what to do next. This is really irritating!

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Have you tried saving the document, then printing?

Yes, Word's alert prompts me do save then exit. I've done that and tried to
print again with no joy.

I've also tried printing after closing & restarting Word entirely and even
rebooting too. Copying to another PC and printing from there worked - even
though its actual resources were lower.

What is the exact error message?

What are your virtual memory settings?

In System > Performance Options, the currently selected option is "Adjust
for best performance" although I have tried adjusting these to sort the
problem (without success).

In System > Performance Options > Advanced :
Processor scheduling = Programs
Memory usage = Programs
Virtual memory is currently 191MB (managed by system).
