But do either of these products automatically convert tags for persons using
assistive technology? If not, it's a major shortcoming. Adobe Writer's
PDFMaker add-in does it automatically.

As near as I can tell, the 8848 product does nothing but automate the process
of printing to PDF using GhostScript. IOW, it doesn't add any tags, doesn't
maintain links or do much of anything else other than just print what you see
to PDF. In other words, it's like printing to PDFWriter or Distiller w/o using
Adobe's PDFMaker add-in. Or our Prep4PDF - ;-)
