Instant search not working in Outlook 2007

I have instant search setup on my Outlook 2007. In the first few days it
worked well. Now it finds nothing even with all folders selected in options.
No matter what I enter in search, it comes up with no records. Anybody has
this problem?

Yes, people have seen this before. You can try rebuilding your index via
Control Panel, Indexing Options, Advanced, Rebuild. This might help
(after you gave it sufficient time to reindex).

Folks, I restarted Index one, twice and what do you know "3rd time lucky". It
now magically started to work -and hopefully stays working

Thanks for the help

Hi,
I am having the same problem. After installing the instanst search (WDS 3)
ALL searches in Outlook return "No matches found for 'search word'".

I have reinstalled, reindexed 5 times and still nothing. I am using imap.
The odd thing is that it works for the first few minutes of the indexing but
as soon as it finishes, Control Panel > Indexing Options "Index update
complete", I get no results.

Google Desktop Search works fine so I have to use it instead to find my
emails.

I installed the Office 2007 Beta 2 as an upgrade.

When I uninstall WDS 3 the normal Outlook search works fine.

I have changed the options to do the following in case it would help:

1) Indexing Options > Advanced Options> Indexing Settings > Index encrypted
files
2) iIndexing Options > Advanced Options> File Types > index mapi files
(properties and content)
3) Indexing Options > Advanced Options> File Types > pst (properties only)

I did these changes as a last resort after nothing else worked.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have tried the reindex route and still nothing. Windows search in outlook
at first only had index of older messages. After reindex, there is no search
the will provide any results.

Also searchindexer.exe is now up to 114,100 K of memory usage... the largest
of any process on the PC and is apparently doing nothing good.
