Instant Paste Special?

Hi, I work with manipulating data from one format to another and on
task that I have to repeat over and over is copying a column of data
then pasting that data via the paste special>values function so tha
all the formulas and formatting are removed from the original data.

I do this for quite a while and I was wondering if there is a bette
way to go about the repeated process of paste special>values. Is ther
a way to make a one click version of that where I would just choose th
cell and click a single button to do that?

This would probably save me a few seconds each time I do this, bu
considering the volume of times I use that function on a daily basis i
would quickly add up and free me up to move on with other work.

Thank

see if this idea helps where you want sheet1!a1 to have the save value as
sheet2!b1
sheets("sheet1").range("a1").value=sheets("sheet2").range("b1").value

If you right-click on your toolbar and select Customize, Commands, in the
choices for Edit you will see a button for Paste Values. You can drag this
up to your toolbar and see if it does what you want.

Don't forget that you can also quickly do Alt+e s v Enter. This is
the keyboard shortcut to activate the Edit menu (Alt+e), select paste
special (s), select the Values option (v) and then press the Okay
button (Enter). I do this all the time.

The button under the commands works great. I just draged it up to my bar
and click it to paste values. That will save time and annoyance from
always right clicking, paste special, values, ok. lol

Is there any way to map it to a mouse button? I currently can map cut
or copy to the left button and paste to the right (of a 5 button
mouse)

Thanks

something like this assigned to a button might be OK
activecell.value=activecell.value

That's going to depend largely on your mouse software; the mouse isn't an
Excel object. If you've got a 5-button mouse and can set other functions,
you probably have Advanced features that may let you explore
application-specific commands. Find out who makes your mouseware and shoot
their tech support an e-mail if you can't figure it out.
