Instant Logoff after RDP Connect

Sabine Panislowski

Hello,

I have a Windows XP Pro SP1 (x86) machine which is configured to allow
remote desktop connections. When I try to connect from different client
machines (XP Pro SP2, Server 2003 R2, Server 2003 SP1) I get the XP Remote
login box. After entering username/password I can see the message "loading
user setting" (or whatever it is in english) and shortly after that I see
the message "disconnecting network" (well, we're using german Windows here).
Both, client and server have NO warnings/errors in their event logs. The
connection only works, after I'm logged on locally on the machine. Upgrading
the machine to SP2 didn't help.

Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

I would look at making sure you have the latest video drivers installed...

Bingo! Can't believe it. I used some outdated, yet WHQL-Certified nVidia
drivers.
Now it works like a charm!

Thanks again!
