I’m having a problem installing Windows XP on my new system. I can’t get
passed the EULA. F8 doesn’t do anything. I can page down and up to read the
agreement, and “esc†to exit the setup. The hard drive isn’t new, but I did
put a new one in there to see if that was possibly the problem, but the same
result. It’s a brand new system, built last night. I can boot to the 98’
boot disk and I portioned and formatted the drive. It’s an OEM XP, so
Microsoft wasn’t going to help me without 35 dollars and of course the shop
that I bought all the parts from is closed on a Sunday. I have built a system
before, this one actually, and I didn’t have this problem.
It’s a WinFast motherboard, with a 2600 Sempron chip. The hard drive is a
Gateway drive, as well as the DVD-ROM, and floppy. I don’t think it’s the
drive, because the system I’m using now has a gateway drive and it runs just
fine. And I also put a new drive in the new system to rule that problem out.
Any suggestions would be great.
