Hello Richard O'Connell,

This has nothing to do with the network. Logon with the administrator account

Best regards

I bought an old Hp Omnibook on eBay. Installed Windows 2000 pro and want to
install Works 7. I get a message that "you must have administrative
privileges in order to install the product". I am the only user and this
computer is not on a network. What do I need to do.

Can you tell us a little more about your Win2000 installation, e.g.
- What OS did the machine have when you bought it?
- How exactly did you start the installation?
- Did you allow the hard disk to be formatted?
- Is your Win2000 CD a genuine MS CD?
- Where did the CD come from?
- Did you have to enter a product key? Where did the key come from?

I'm pretty sure that win2000 can't be upgraded to win7, only Vista has
that capability.

Hello Tony,

That was not the question here, it was about WORKS 7 which should run on
windows 2000.
