installing Windows Vista

my computer currently has Windows XP on it. the activation days have ran out
so everytime i turn on the computer it loads to the login screen and tells me
to activate it but when i try it doesnt work. I just bought windows Vista and
i need to know how to Install it. i put the CD in but nothing happened. i
know there is an easy way i just cant remember how to do it.

You may need to go into your system BIOS and make the CDROM drive the 1st
boot device; then reboot with the DVD or CD in the drive. This may be why
"nothing happened" when you put the CD in.
