Installing UPHC

Trying to install user profile hive service on Vista Basic, get the
follwoing error message.
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package.A Program ran as
part of the setupdid not finish as expected"

This is a new laptop which came with Vista Basic preinstalled.

Any Ideas please?

The User Profile Hive Cleanup Service is not supported in Vista. It will
run on Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP only.

If you are having shutdown problems, look to buggy drivers as the cause
- particularly video drivers. Otherwise, post back with a good
description of your system and the problems you're having if you want
more help.

From the download site for the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service.

"Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP"

It's not compatible with Vista. In fact the download site for this utility
states that if you have this installed when upgrading from XP to Vista, you
should be sure and uninstall it. They are working on version 2.0 that will
support Vista, but it is still in beta.
