installing/unstalling SP2

my computer's been acting weird after i accidently erased an update. my
computer then crashed competely. i then had to reboot using a cd that
installed window xp. i was able to restore to by orignal window xp. but
since i did that, i cant install any programs. my computer then informed me
that, this window xp is no longer secure and when i tried to make it secure
again it wouldn't let me download SP2 and my computer already stated that it
already had SP2. But the updates tell me that i need to download SP2. I'm
confused. what can i do. i can't download any programs.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but I can believe you are confused
because your post is confusing. How exactly did you "restore to by original
window xp"? Is this with restore CD, or a regular XP installation CD?

I suggest you start over, since it's unclear what you did and what state the
computer is in. Here is a link with info on how do do a clean install of XP
using an installation CD. You might want to contact a competent computer
repair shop for help with this if you don't feel you can do it correctly.

If it was a restore CD, then check the computer documentation or contact the
computer tech support for help with how to properly install XP.
