Installing stationery

Hi

I have custom stationery in the form of an html file. I need to send it to a
client and need to give them an easy way to install on each pc. Is there a
way I can do this such as send them a batch file or script that when run
automatically copies the html file in the current user's stationery folder
and if possible also set it to be the current stationery in outlook?

It's certainly possible, but decidedly non-trivial to automatically deploy a
signature to another user's Outlook profile and copy the signature file to
the correct location.

First, all signatures are stored in the C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures folder. So you'd
need to know or retrieve in code the Windows account name of the currently
logged on user in order to batch deploy and .rtf, .htm or .txt signature
files.

Secondly, there is some sample code that illustrates how to designate a
particular signature as the default:

However, you'd still need to implement this code into a distributable and
generic enough solution for installation or execution on another PC. This
last requirement would pretty much kill your goal as it would be far too much
effort. Best to attach the signature to an e-mail and instruct the user how
to change the default signature through Outlook settings.
