installing software needs admin privelege

OK--Windows 2000 Pro: user is logging into Win2K domain.
Need to install software (Palm). The user has admin
privelege on the local computer, but when logging into the
domain, no longer carries that privelege, right? So, how
can we install the software, which requires admin
privelege, when the user is logging into a domain? We've
tried many things. When we log in locally, the software
installs, but is not available once we log back into the
domain. HELP!!!

If you add the users domain account to the local admin account they will log
in to the domain with admin privileges on the local computer and user
privileges on the domain.

I have also "heard" (haven't tried myself) that you can add the user's
account to the admin group, install the software, then remove them from the
group and the software will be available to them.

.....depends on the software. Most well-written software should work without
the user having to have admin (or even power user) rights - I've just run
into a lot of crapplications that were written by people who didn't think
about this level of detail, unfortunately.

I install with my admin account. Then find the Palm registry
key, give it authorized user permission,no inheritance, then do the same for
the Palm directory. This is an easy one,try making Quickbooks work, that was
really a task.Intuit was no help at all,I just hate that company,Adysthemic
