Installing on SQL Server - Part 2

Wait a second, is it even possible to install or create a new DB on an XP
machine that already has SQL Server installed on it?

I have MS Accounting and Visual Studio both installed as well as full
version of SQL Server 2005.

I have tried all of the suggestions, OLE Automation, port numbers, etc. I
could not find the registry key suggested though.

I am sorry guys, I have tried everything. I have searched this and other
newsgroups/forums and nothing works. I am beginning to wonder if my problem
is that my SQL Server and the MSDE version installed are on the same box.

any thoughts?

I just cant believe this is so diffcult - isnt using SQL Server a good thing
for Microsoft!?!?

Is there not at least *one* microsoft person monitoring this newsgroup??

Why cant you install BCM *directly* onto a SQL Server? This doenst make
sense.

If there is a reason, could MS please respond?

Sorry for the rant.

ok...so, what I have done to get past my insanity here...is point everything
back to the MSSMLBIZ (MSDE instance).

Its all working again. But I am still disappointed that I could not move
everything to my central SQL Server that is running on the same machine,
save myself the overhead, etc.

any thoughts, even if its just to point out my stupidity, would be welcomed.
