Installing OEM XP to laptop or desktop?

I want to purchase XP from a legit source (Newegg) to install on my laptop.
Does it matter what computer type setup laptop or desktop?
Microsoft documentation does not specify, so I 'think' it does not matter.
Does IT???

It makes no difference to Microsoft whether you install Windows on a
desktop or a laptop.

No.

Unless this is an OEM version of XP that has been specifically tailored for
your laptop, you had better be sure that XP drivers exist for your hardware
and you should get them prior to installing XP. You also need to make sure
your laptop has sufficient "juice" to run XP satisfactorily. I recommend at
least 512 mb of ram (you may need more if you run heavy duty software that
requires lots of ram) and a P3/4 processor. I have XP Home on my laptop
with 384 mb of ram and a 2 GHz CPU and it is not too swift but I don't use
it often so I get by.

You still need to be concerned about the drivers. Do you know if XP
drivers even exist for your laptop? What is its make and model?
