Installing MS Office after installing OpenOffice

When installing MS Office after a previous installation of OpenOffice, all
..doc files are shown as soffice6.doc file type and the icons are not
converted to MSWord. There appears no way to re-convert these files to
MSWord and manual intervention is required to allow MSWord to open these
files (default is WordPad). Help/Detect and Repair does not resolve this
issue. OS is XP Home.

Try to restore file associations by typing winword /r in the Run
dialog box and pressing Enter.
