Installing issues

Hey all,

I have had Vista for a month or so, was good.
I had to format and re-install due to my system not booting at all, thought
this would be simple enough, put XP back ok, ran Vista install. All was fine
untill just after the bit where the screen goes black for a min or two (near
the end of the install) then it basically stops, i left it over night and the
total progress bar did not move.

I am very disapointed that a MS OS can be so bad, i went and bought a $12
Linux OS and it seems to install and work just as well (well better as Vista
wont install)

My system is cabable of running Vista too... just in case someone thought
that to be the problem.

Thanks

That sounds bad. Either you installed software (most likely a driver)
that was not Vista compatible, or you have some sort of hardware failure
most likely hard disk or memory. (Perhaps a temporary failure caused by
overheating or inadequate ventilation of the motherboard.)

Don't assume that the hardware is perfect just because you could install
linux. Maybe yes, maybe no.
