Installing CPU fan

A

attilathehun1

I just bought a Zalman CPU fan model #CPNS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler.
Now, I've built PCs and usually I install the stock fan and use a screw
driver to push down on the side to get it clipped onto the mobo. This fan
seems a little too big and do you think I should use the same procedure to
install this one?
I don't want to mess it up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
attilahthehun1
PS Gary, I don't need to be reminded to bring it to a PC tech. Otherwise
I'd not be asking this question. Gary, if you've ever installed a Zalman,
which I doubt, you'd know what I'm talking about. This one is a bit hard.

The spring clip has much more tension then most CPU fans. Has anyone
installed this fan by just manually pushing down on it, or did you have to
use a screwdriver as usual. Be precise, please.
Thanks, attilathehun1

If it doesn't feel quite right don't do it. I had one that felt like it was
taking too much pressure and it turned out another fan was a better fit.

And the clips are all different. Some are too tight, some are too loose,
some don't fit.

I don't want to be addressed in 3rd person. I'm no troll. Ok, you want to
know the truth. No, I'm not telling you the truth, you can't handle the
truth.
What have I had explained to me in another group? Either I should use a
screwdriver, or not. It takes a certain amount of pressure to apply or
install a CPU fan. It takes half as much, usually, of lbs. of pressure to
remove a CPU fan. I've done my Compaq Presario a number of times with a
sdrewdriver. I'm just wondering if there is a certain precise different way
of installing this Zalman.
If you don't know the answer, don't feel bad. That's why we are here, to
help one another.
Ok, again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, attilathehun1

(Gary's someone in the other group he was bugging about some similar
questions). Besides which, this question has been answered already, in
general terms. Hell, I even answered it, in general terms. But such
specifics for Zalman? Google is your friend. And "Attila the hun"?
LOL. Yeah, right! (You're a millenium or two out of place, boy).

Gary is some stuffed shirt in Windows ME Newsgroups that was giving me advise
and telling me to go to a PC tech. I've been to many PC techs and they do the
same thing that I do. They troubleshoot it. First they check the power
supply. Next they check the RAM sticks to make sure they are seated right. I
do that RAM first. Ok, then they check to see if it's the monitor that's gone
bad. Next they check the Operating system to make sure the hard drive is not
the problem. Then they check the wiring to make sure there is nothing
shorting it out. Then they check the video card to make sure it's not that,
etc... you get my drift. Maybe a few of those aren't in the order that I
would check, but the same result is a foregone conclusion. Your screwed if
you bring it to a PC tech. He's going to do the same thing that you're doing.

Oh and another thing. I have not asked anything about installing a Zalman
cooler. Bill in Co. is either Gary under another name of Gary's bf buddy. You
get my drift. Why even put yourself into a position where your siding with
someone who your not even in league with. This Gary character can't seem to
give advise, maybe he can't because he doesn't know jacksht, or give advise
and let that be. He wants to critical or criticize anyone who wants help. Why
not answer the question and be ok with it. Why tell someone who wants help
that they don't know jacksht and to go to a PC tech.
See Gary is so ashamed, finally that he won't show his face anymore.
Ok, no loss. His input isn't really something I want to see anyways.
Alrighty it's 2am almost and I gotta get some sleep. Actually, it's
Saturday night and I don't gotta get up early on Sunday morning.
Monday thru Friday mornings have to be up by 630 am to play the stock
market. I'm on a 4 day winning streak and well, $435, $200, $550, and $1,055
for 4 days. That's about a little over $2200 for 4 days. I'm playing with 50
grand so that's about 250% on my money. Now the 2 days before that I lost
$550 and $600. The key to the four day win streak is I'm getting up right
when the market is opening. Instead of getting up 2 hours after it opens and
that's what happened on the 2 days I lost $550 and $600. Getting up at 830 am
instead of 630am.
Ok, this is getting to be TMI
Thanks, attilathehun1

Did you look at the flash instructions (VERY clear) at the site? Be sure to
choose the correct socket type.

Any particular reason you can't or won't follow the instructions that
came with the fan?

Why bring this up HERE? This is strictly a hardware question that has
aboslutely NOTHING to do with XP.

Ask elsewhere

It's a general question, about how the f to install the CPU fan with a
Zalman. Now the other question I have has to do with taking off the old one
and installing the Zalman.
If this is too much for you noobies, then, lets see? Ok, I got it.
Blow it out your asses! If that's all you have to add into the conversation
is to go to hardware, then yes, blow it out your asses. Next time stfu and
keep your thoughts to yourselves.
