Installing Chinese IME

I have just installed Chinese IME by adding it via
the "Regional Language & Settings" option in Control
Panel. However after that, when I select "CN" in the
language tab and type certain words (eg. wo), no options
of words to choose from appear. Or rather nothing can be
seen. But if I <enter>, a Chinese word, presumably the
first option will be inputted.
Is there something I need to do to be able to see the
optional words?
