Install problem

Iam currently trying to instal windows 2000 as an upgrade from nt4, however i have an internal Hayes Accura 56k V.90 Ext Modem asnd i am aware it is not compatable i also have pc anywhere software on the computer but when i remove them i get numerous error messages. when i take off pc anywhere i get error dump messages and when i remove the modem i get error messages from that 2. Has anybody got any ideas how i can solve these problems or get round them i would be really greatful for anyones help!!

Disabling the modem in the Device Manager might solve your problem. While
you're in that area, find out the name of the driver file for your modem.

There was a problem with PC Anywhere(can't remember the
version) that made it incompatible with W2K. You had to
run the install routine and BEFORE you take the machine
reboot, had to go to the web and download and install the
patch for it from Symantec; THEN reboot and it would work
fine. You might try a "standard modem" driver native to
W2K for your modem. It might work. Hope this helps.
