Install on External Drive

Vista does not work with quite a few programs I use so I put back on XP, but
I want to use Vista. I was told I should be able to install on an external
drive but I can't get it to work.

Does anyone know how I would do this?

Thanks,

Deby

Windows Vista can only be installed on an "internal drive".
Why don't you purchase another hard drive, install it as
a "slave drive", then install Windows Vista on it?
